After navigating a stressful experience at the airport, the author arrives in Aruba, where a beautiful climate and friendly locals set the mood for relaxation. The St. Regis, Aruba's first luxury resort under Marriott, provides unique amenities, positioned conveniently near Palm Beach and Oranjestad. Despite early operational challenges, the resort promises a blissful stay. The island’s carefree environment, coupled with its low rainfall and absence of hurricane threats, adds to Aruba's allure as a destination worth revisiting, especially after a long winter in New York.
It's hard not to have a good vacation in Aruba. The weather seems to hover in the mid-80s, there are only eight inches of rain per year and there are no stoplights.
Located at the start of Palm Beach - the most popular beach on the island - the St. Regis is part of Marriott International's luxury portfolio and offers a few amenities you may not find on other parts of the island.
While the resort has a few growing pains to work out (early reviews from guests have been mixed), it's overall a wonderful and relaxing experience.
After a particularly taxing winter and spring in New York, I'm already eager to go back.
