"Unfortunately, Herro has been shelved too much this season with injuries to build on that career year of his in 2024-25. The 26-year-old guard has appeared in just 11 of the team's 51 total games thus far. He began this campaign sidelined after recovering from offseason ankle surgery. But since his return, Herro has been hit with both toe and now most recently, a rib injury."
"Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel recently stated that Herro will not be a participant to defend his title at the 3-point contest in the upcoming weeks: "Sidelined Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro has bypassed an invitation to attempt to defend his 2025 championship in the 3-point contest during NBA All-Star Weekend, to instead focus on getting back on the court... Herro has prioritized a return to action." (via Ira Winderman)"
Tyler Herro rose to first-time All-Star status and won the 3-point contest in 2024-25. He has played only 11 of Miami's 51 games in 2025-26 after offseason ankle surgery. Since returning he suffered toe and rib injuries and has not played since January 15, when he scored 22 points in a loss to Boston. Herro skipped an invitation to defend his 3-point contest title to focus on returning to play. Pelle Larsson has gained an expanded role in the rotation during Herro's extended absences.
