Bryson DeChambeau beats LIV wild card in Singapore playoff
"It was a short putt and I wanted to just hit it hard, and I hit it a little too hard. I think the adrenaline was pumping a little bit. Lee said after missing the decisive 2-foot par putt in the playoff, explaining his rushed stroke that cost him the tournament victory."
"To actually see that happen in front of you, for you to be the positive receiving side of it, it's just a weird feeling. But it's a win and something I'll appreciate for the rest of my life. Even if I lost today, I was still looking pretty good at my game. DeChambeau reflected on the fortunate circumstances of his victory and his confidence in his overall performance."
Bryson DeChambeau defeated Canadian Richard T. Lee in a playoff at LIV Golf Singapore, both finishing at 14-under 274 after 72 holes. DeChambeau shot a 5-under 66 with a birdie on the par-5 18th, while Lee also carded a 66 with four birdies in his last six holes. In the playoff, Lee faced a 2-foot putt for par but jabbed it too hard, causing it to spin out. Lee Westwood finished third with a 70. Lee earned $2.25 million for his runner-up finish, the largest check of his career, after qualifying through the LIV Promotions event. DeChambeau's victory marked his first 72-hole win since the 2024 U.S. Open and his fourth LIV Golf title. The 4 Aces team won the team competition for the second consecutive week.
