"Many of us were handed down a story of what success is supposed to look like. Often, it's these markers that are external: titles, salaries, accolades, recognition, and so on. The reality is that we can meet all the traditional markers and still not feel fulfilled. While those achievements matter, we can also be left feeling emptier than expected, especially if they aren't anchored to our own values, passions, and truths;"
"Once we recognize that it's OK for our version of success to evolve, we create space for reinvention. The power of reinvention is that it challenges us to let go of the familiar and step into something greater. It's about honouring where we are right now and being brave enough to chart a new course. Sometimes it comes through a big interrupt, and other times it's a quiet recognition that something feels out of alignment with how we want to be living."
Many people inherit an external template of success defined by titles, salaries, accolades, and recognition. Those external markers can coexist with a lack of fulfillment when achievements are not anchored to personal values, passions, and truths. Asking what success means right now helps determine whether priorities are self-chosen or inherited. Definitions of success can evolve to prioritize freedom, spaciousness, service, and flexibility. Reinvention enables letting go of the familiar, creates space for new opportunities and ways of being, and allows pride in past achievements alongside pursuit of different, more fulfilling paths.
