Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 in the Australian Open final to complete the career Grand Slam and become the youngest male player ever to do so. Alcaraz, aged 22, is also the youngest man in the Open Era to reach seven major titles. Djokovic had entered seeking to become the oldest Grand Slam champion and reached the final after a five-set victory over Jannik Sinner. Djokovic praised Alcaraz's career, character and family. Alcaraz made a coaching change before the tournament, replacing Juan Carlos Ferrero with Samuel Lopez, and said he focused on his game and his team.
