Disneyland abandoned plans for Disney Villains land, report says

Disney Imagineering developed comprehensive plans for a Villains Land at Disney California Adventure during the reimagining of Paradise Pier, featuring a Jafar-themed roller coaster and an Ursula-inspired spinning ride. The Jafar coaster would have transformed California Screamin' by converting its scream tunnels into a giant snake and its inverted loop into Captain Hook's hook. An Ursula spinner ride similar to Dumbo would have occupied the western helix area. However, Disney ultimately chose to pivot toward a Pixar Pier makeover announced in 2017 and completed in 2018. This decision resulted in lighter thematic transformations, including renaming California Screamin' to Incredicoaster and repositioning existing attractions with Pixar themes.
