A passenger traveling from London Heathrow to JFK via Dublin stopped at Dublin Airport and was checking a bag through security when a suspected detonator and devices were found. Terminal 2 was evacuated and placed on an extreme security alert, with gardaĆ­ attending and the Defence Forces bomb disposal squad asked to stand by. Terminal 2 later received the all-clear at 13:50 and passengers were allowed to re-enter, with flights expected to resume within about 30 minutes though temporary disruption may continue. Separate Europe-wide cyber incidents caused minor impacts at Dublin and Cork amid concerns of coordinated elements. The DAA described the evacuation as a precaution and emphasized that passenger and staff safety is the absolute priority.
