"A man has died following a fatal road traffic collision near Edenderry, Co. Offaly this morning, August, 27. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision, which involved a crane and two vans on the R401 at Drumcooly at approximately 6:15am. The driver of one of the vans, a male in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver (30s) of the other van was brought to Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries."
"The road is closed between the junction of L5003 Drumcooly and junction L5006 on the Ballykilleen Road. Offaly County Council has advised this morning that diversions are in place. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the road traffic collision on the Clonbullogue to Edenderry road. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:00am and 6:30am on Wednesday morning, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí."
