Vanessa Whyte, a 45-year-old vet from Co Clare, and her children, James (14) and Sara (13), died in a suspected triple murder-suicide. The community held a prayer service in Barefield to honor them, attended by hundreds. Parish priest Fr Tom Fitzpatrick spoke affectionately about Vanessa's dedication to her children and her multifaceted roles in life. Candles were lit for the family during the service, and emphasis was placed on remembering Vanessa and supporting her family, who watched the service online instead of attending in person.

"Vanessa was a mother. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunty and a great friend to so many people," Fr Fitzpatrick added. "She was a woman who loved her children fiercely, and wanted the best for them."
