Three people died in separate road collisions in County Tipperary, bringing the year's road death total to 174. A four-car collision at Killeen, Ballinunty shortly before 6pm left two male occupants, one in his early 20s and one in his late teens, pronounced dead at the scene. Two women in their 20s from a second car were taken to Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel with non-life-threatening injuries. Six other people were medically assessed at the scene and did not require hospital treatment. Around 1:10am on the Frank Drohan Road (N24) in Clonmel, a man in his thirties died after a two-car collision and was taken to University Hospital Waterford for postmortem. Garda investigations are ongoing and witnesses are being asked to come forward. Local officials offered condolences and described the incidents as deeply tragic.
