The European Commission accepted Microsoft concessions after an antitrust probe into the bundling of Teams with Office 365 and Microsoft 365 subscriptions. Microsoft agreed to offer versions of its productivity suites without Teams at a reduced price and committed not to offer higher discount rates on suites that include Teams than on suites without Teams. Customers with long-term licenses can switch to providers without Teams. Microsoft guaranteed effective interoperability between its solutions and competitors. The commitments addressed concerns about tying Teams to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Salesforce's chief legal officer said the settlement confirms harm to competition and customer choice.
