Spain's public broadcaster RTVE voted to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 if Israel is allowed to participate, with ten of 15 board members supporting the decision and one abstention. RTVE became the fifth broadcaster to threaten withdrawal. Ireland's RTE said participation alongside Israel would be unconscionable because of the ongoing and appalling loss of lives in Gaza and stated Ireland would not take part if Israel participates. Dutch broadcaster Avrotros said it could no longer justify Israel's participation given severe human suffering in Gaza and cited concerns about press freedom and alleged government interference. Slovenia and Iceland have also suggested possible withdrawal. The EBU said it has not made proposals to Kan regarding participation.
