Mission Local is expanding, adding new neighborhood coverage
"Mission Local is launching landing pages for five neighborhoods where we have dedicated beat coverage - the Tenderloin, Bayview, the Sunset, the Richmond, and the Mission. They went live this morning, with all neighborhood news in one convenient place, plus resource pages for each neighborhood."
"We're giving four of our reporters neighborhood-area beats, and we want you to rely on us for all news, big and small, in these places."
"San Francisco is a city of neighborhoods, and we think it deserves newsrooms that double down on those communities. Mission Local will always be local."
Mission Local is officially expanding its coverage beyond the Mission District by launching dedicated landing pages for five neighborhoods: the Tenderloin, Bayview, the Sunset, the Richmond, and the Mission. Each page will feature neighborhood news and resource information. The homepage has been redesigned to emphasize neighborhood coverage. Four reporters will cover specific areas, supported by rotating interns. Additionally, neighborhood newsletters will be sent bi-weekly, and a twice-monthly 'buzz' column will highlight updates in commercial corridors, reinforcing Mission Local's commitment to local journalism.
