Carlos Prates says he's bad comeback fight for McGregor: 'I would knock him out'
"A lot you guys have been asking me about the Conor McGregor fight. And I didn't get anything from the UFC yet... Of course it would be a huge honor for me to fight against him. I really want a fight that's gonna bring me a title shot - JDM, Conor McGregor. To be honest, I think that fight is hard to happen. Because Conor McGregor is five years without any fight, retired from MMA."
"And after five years, he wouldn't return to fight against the most interesting welterweight in the world. Nothing against him, but everybody knows - I know, he knows - I would hurt him bad. I would knock him out. So I don't think it's the right way to make a comeback for a huge superstar like him."
Carlos Prates addressed rumors about a potential fight with Conor McGregor, clarifying he has received no official UFC communication about such a matchup. While Prates would consider it an honor to fight McGregor, he doubts the fight will happen. Prates notes McGregor has been inactive since 2021 and is likely retired from MMA. He believes McGregor would be reluctant to return against a dangerous welterweight like himself, as Prates is confident he would inflict serious damage and knock out the former double champion. Prates suggests this matchup would not be an appropriate comeback fight for a superstar of McGregor's caliber.
