Kate MccGwire: Powerfully Quiet - Hi-Fructose Magazine
Briefly

New mixed media sculptures in the Blue Acid show combine 3D elements with 2D painted planes, resembling billboard-like presentations. The artist finds inspiration in seemingly random discoveries that spark creativity. Access to scrap wood from a nearby woodworking shop leads to painting on oddly shaped pieces, revealing that multiple themes can coexist based on which side is viewed. Despite a lifelong dedication to painting, the artist feels a persistent allure towards sculpture, which serves as a compelling supplement to their primary focus.

Sculpture always whispers to me; I restrain myself and keep it a supplement to painting which I've spent a lifetime trying to get good at.
