The incident, which involved fans leaning against the barricade, startled both Dvalishvili and his coach, John Wood, who feared for the safety of those involved. Fortunately, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that despite the severity of the situation, no injuries occurred. Dvalishvili went on to successfully submit Sean O'Malley in the rematch, continuing his impressive 14-fight winning streak, tying for the fourth-longest in UFC history.
"We almost got crushed... I was s--ing my pants," Wood told Submission Radio. "Merab got pushed out of the way as the thing was falling over..."
The incident seemed so severe that Wood initially was looking for bodies under the barricade... It was like five fans broke the barricade and fell over. It was nuts man.
