"In December of 2024, Todev was supposed to face Oktagon MMA heavyweight champion Hatef Moeil at Oktagon 64. However, during a pre-fight press conference, an altercation erupted, and Moeil actually threw his belt at the challenger, though it instead hit and cut Oktagon co-founder Pavol Neruda. Promotion officials deemed that Moeil was to blame for the fracas, and issued a heavy fine against the champ. In turn, he pulled out of the bout- on the day of the fight."
""It was not that nice, definitely, but this is a part of the game. Sometimes, somebody can cancel from the fight because of injury or something different," Todev (12-7) told Cageside Press in a recent interview. "I accepted, and a couple of months later, we [made] the fight against Will Fleury. This one was also a good option. Heavy opponent, but a good option.""
In December 2024, Todev was scheduled to face Hatef Moeil at Oktagon 64, but a pre-fight altercation resulted in Moeil throwing his belt and cutting Oktagon co-founder Pavol Neruda. Promotion officials fined Moeil and he withdrew on fight day. Todev later fought Will Fleury and lost by decision, while Fleury became a two-division Oktagon champion after defeating Martin Buday. Todev then defeated UFC veteran Luis Henrique Barbosa. Josh Parisian is set as Todev's next opponent as Todev aims to return to heavyweight title contention and challenge the top fighters in the division.
