UFC Mexico City: Moreno vs. Kavanagh Post-Fight Press Conference Live Stream
"With Almabayev out of the fight, however, the UFC was left scrambling for an opponent. And as it turned out, they couldn't seem to find one in the top 15. Instead, it was prospect Lone'er Kavanagh answering the call, despite coming off a loss against Miles Johns."
"England's Kavanagh had been undefeated prior to the Johns setback, and was still considered a flyweight of the future. He was going to try to make the future the present against the always dangerous Moreno in the UFC Mexico City main event at the Arena CDMX on Saturday."
Brandon Moreno, a former two-time flyweight champion, returned to action at UFC Mexico City in his home country. The main event was altered when ranked opponent Asu Almabayev was forced out, leaving the UFC to find a replacement. Unable to secure a top-15 ranked fighter, the promotion turned to prospect Lone'er Kavanagh, who was coming off a loss to Miles Johns. Despite the setback, Kavanagh remained highly regarded as a future flyweight contender. The card also featured Chito Vera attempting to end a three-fight losing streak against David Martinez, and a lightweight matchup between veteran King Green and Daniel Zellhuber.
