A UX community at Booking.com revamped its review ritual, named PayJam, to improve collaboration among its 15-member team of designers, writers, and researchers. The review process now includes a clear purpose, enhanced structure, and engaging schedules based on collaborative principles. The team focuses on the checkout process and post-booking financial flows to provide a seamless experience for travelers. The PayJam meetings have turned into valuable sessions for critique, ideation, learning, and enjoyment, strengthening community ties and improving project outcomes.
We (re)introduced the review ritual with a clear purpose, improved structure, and a more engaging schedule, based on collaboration principles that apply beyond the review.
The main focus of our team is the checkout process: how travellers pay for their bookings, including payment method, payment timing, and rewards.
The review meeting, called PayJam, became a weekly highlight, aimed at fostering critiques, ideation, and learning within the UX community.
Our UX team consists of 15 individuals across UX design, writing, and research, collaborating closely in the FinTech department to enhance user experience.
