East Bay's Punk in the Park' Festival Slammed by Revelations That Promoter Was a Trump Donor
"We've become aware that the owner of Brew Ha Ha Productions, the company behind Punk In The Park, made financial contributions in support of the Trump administration. Our first reaction was to cancel our upcoming appearances. However, we do not feel it would be fair to our supporters who have already purchased tickets & made plans to attend these shows."
"Dead Kennedys have always stood firmly against authoritarianism, racism, and fascism. That has not changed. After these scheduled appearances, we will not be participating in future Punk In The Park events."
Vallejo's Punk in the Park music festival, featuring bands like the Dead Kennedys, the Adicts, and the Exploited, encountered significant backlash when the festival promoter and Brew Ha Ha Productions owner Cameron Clark was revealed to have donated $225 to the Trump 2024 campaign. Multiple undercard acts subsequently withdrew from the event. The Dead Kennedys initially considered canceling but decided to honor existing ticket purchases and fan commitments. The band reaffirmed their opposition to authoritarianism, racism, and fascism, announcing they will not participate in future Punk in the Park events after this year's scheduled performances.
