KPop Demon Hunters Actor Pays Tribute To Her Character At VMAs
"In the opening of KPop Demon Hunters, we see Huntr/x fans being interviewed on camera about the group. A few Mira fans talk about how she's not only the group's leading dancer and the black sheep of her family, but is also a fashion icon on and off the stage, with one fan raving about how she wore a black sleeping bag to the Met Gala and it was an iconic moment."
"Huntr/x was nominated for one award at the show, with "Golden" being in the running for "Song of the Summer," but losing out to Tate McRae's "Just Keep Watching." Even without the award, the song has been incredibly successful outside of the movie, having topped the charts in over 20 countries worldwide. Hopefully, at some point this year we get to hear some of the songs from the movie performed live during awards season."
At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in Elmont, New York, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami—the singing voices of Huntr/x from KPop Demon Hunters—presented the Best Album award. The group did not perform songs from the film, but Audrey Nuna honored her character Mira with a large puffy jacket echoing Mira's famed black sleeping-bag Met Gala look. Fans of Mira are depicted as praising her as the group's lead dancer, family black sheep, and a fashion icon. Huntr/x's song "Golden" was nominated for Song of the Summer but lost to Tate McRae's "Just Keep Watching," despite topping charts in over 20 countries.
