Captain arrested after boat bursts into flames forcing 22 passengers into water

A group of passengers on a boat near New York City was thrown into the frigid waters after their vessel caught fire around 8:30 PM. Emergency services, including the Coast Guard and NYPD, responded swiftly, rescuing most survivors who managed to swim to Hart Island. Of the 22 passengers, three needed rescue from the water, with one in critical condition. The boat operator, Joshua Brito, was charged with DWI after the incident. Fortunately, the majority suffered only minor injuries.
Emergency teams from the Coast Guard, New York Fire Department and New York Police Department all attended the scene near City Island in the Bronx.
Marine 4 grabbed three people out of the water, while the other 19 folks swam to Hart Island to escape the flames.
