Declyn 'Dex' Lauper, 29-year-old son of pop star Cyndi Lauper, appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court and pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He was arrested after police found a loaded Glock .47 caliber handgun on him in Harlem in February 2024, near where his friend had been shot. Lauper received one year of interim probation instead of facing up to seven years in prison. As part of his plea deal, he must complete substance abuse treatment and remain arrest-free. If successful, charges will be reduced to a lesser firearm offense with a three-year conditional discharge. Lauper displayed a designer Louis Vuitton jacket valued at $10,000 during his court appearance.
