Listen to Big Thief's New Songs "Los Angeles" and "Grandmother"
Briefly

Big Thief has released two songs from their upcoming album, Double Infinity, set to be released on September 5. The tracks, "Los Angeles" and "Grandmother," explore themes ranging from the transition from lovers to friends to generational love and pain. "Grandmother" marks the band's first song written as a trio after bassist Max Oleartchik's departure. The album includes collaborations from a wide range of artists and follows their previous album from 2022. In support of Double Infinity, the band is scheduled to tour across North America starting September 17.
"Los Angeles" and the Laraaji-featuring "Grandmother" are about the lovers-to-friends path and the realities of generational love and pain, respectively. The latter was the first song that Big Thief wrote as a trio, following the departure of bassist Max Oleartchik.
Double Infinity is out September 5 via 4AD. Recorded last winter in New York, the album ropes together all three members of Big Thief with a wide range of collaborators.
It's the band's sixth studio LP and the follow-up to 2022's Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. Next, Big Thief will head out on tour in support of the new LP.
Their current route has them performing across North America from September 17 on through to November 7.
