11 NY high school lacrosse players ordered to turn themselves in or face kidnapping charges after tying up teammate in the woods: 'hazing on steroids'
Briefly

An alarming hazing incident occurred involving eleven lacrosse players from Westhill High School in Syracuse, New York. After a game, older players deceived their younger teammates into a terrifying prank where they were taken into the woods and brutally mistreated. District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick described the event as 'hazing on steroids,' noting that victims were threatened and one was tied up and placed in a trunk. The alleged perpetrators face charges of unlawful imprisonment and possible felony kidnapping if they do not turn themselves in within 48 hours, as the traumatized victim struggles to cope with the event.
The incident, described by Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick as "hazing on steroids," happened on April 21 when the older players at Westhill High School in Syracuse tricked their younger teammates with a "prank" that left them scarred.
At some point by prearrangement, people came out of the woods all dressed in black. They were armed with what appeared to be at least one handgun and at least one knife.
Fitzpatrick said students who didn't turn themselves in would be arrested and charged with "a very very serious felony" of kidnapping.
The boy was eventually returned home but was left traumatized, the DA said.
