On April 24, students from Westhill High School engaged in a disturbing hazing incident involving a staged kidnapping of younger lacrosse team members. After a lacrosse game, while at McDonald's, the students pretended to be lost and ambushed their peers, leading them to believe they were being abducted. Dressed in black and armed with fake weapons, the attackers covered a victim's head, tying them up and placing them in a car trunk. The emotional toll on the victim is concerning, prompting school authorities to cancel the lacrosse season and offer leniency to those willing to come forward.
Fitzpatrick described the hazing incident where students from Westhill High School lured younger teammates then staged a kidnapping prank involving fake weapons.
The district attorney indicated the emotional impact on the victim might be long-lasting despite uncertainty about any physical injuries they may have suffered.
