Planned May Day Protest Shuts Down Departure-Level Roadway at SFO International Terminal
"Protesters at SFO were reportedly chanting things like 'ICE out of SFO,' and could be seen carrying signs with messages including 'Tax the Rich.'"
"We know there are bus drivers in New York and teachers in Idaho and nurses in Louisiana who are feeling the impact of a system that has decided to put billionaires ahead of everyone else, says NEA President Becky Pringle."
A May Day protest at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) led to the temporary closure of the departure-level roadway at the International Terminal. SFO officials issued a permit for the protest, which began at 11 am to accommodate free speech activities. Vehicles were redirected to the lower arrivals level, and travelers were advised to use the 'Kiss & Fly' area. Protesters chanted slogans and carried signs, while the airport's domestic terminals remained unaffected. The protest is part of nationwide May Day events focusing on various social issues.
