Meanna Torigoe, 24, died after jumping onto the subway tracks at Union Square station to relieve herself, as restroom access was unavailable after 7 p.m. Video footage showed her walking down a ladder and then rushing back after entering the tunnel, only to be struck by a northbound L train. She was pronounced dead shortly after. No criminality was suspected. Torigoe had a criminal history, having been arrested in March 2022 for an alleged murder charge involving her roommate, but it is unclear if that case was resolved.
