Astroscale, based in Tokyo and specializing in satellite servicing and debris removal, has renovated a 1910 train depot in Denver to create an innovative workspace. The 13,500-square-foot office preserves historical architecture while incorporating modern elements that support the company’s mission. The design features three distinct bays, with the central bay representing satellite control systems. Emphasizing adaptability, the layout includes privacy and collaboration spaces, alongside traditional Japanese Shoji screens. By skillfully merging history with future technological aspirations, the office reflects the company's commitment to the aerospace industry.
"The office features three distinct bays: north, central, and south. The central bay echoes the main control and communication system of a satellite."
"We wanted to reference both the history tied to the structure and the promise of what's ahead for the aerospace industry," says Emily Adams, founder and design director of Neoera.
