Grier left New England in 2000, remaining through the draft that selected Tom Brady. He later worked for the Houston Texans (2000–2016) and as a Dolphins consultant (2017–2025). He was the father of Dolphins GM Chris Grier and Sharks GM Mike Grier. The Miami Dolphins issued condolences.
