Eagles quiet Chiefs' talk with scoreboard statement
"Given the competitive nature of the game and how our games have gone when we've played this team -- it's a really good team, we've got a ton of respect for them obviously -- but you've got to come in with a sense of focus, you've got to stay patient within yourself, stay patient within the team and your role, and let things come to you. And I think as a team, we showed up when we needed to the most."
"We won the f---ing game, shut yo ass up."
"He's probably one of the best s--- talkers in the league. Top notch."
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17 at Arrowhead Stadium, improving to 2-0 while dropping Kansas City to 0-2. The turning point came early in the fourth quarter when Travis Kelce failed to haul in a Patrick Mahomes pass near the goal line, the ball caroming off his hands into the possession of rookie safety Drew Mukuba. The Eagles scored on the ensuing possession and held off a late Chiefs surge. Jalen Hurts fired back at Chris Jones' taunt before taking a knee. Lane Johnson called Jones a top-notch trash talker.
