"Washington hits the road to face the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football this week. The NFC North club dominated the Detroit Lions to begin the campaign. With the new addition of All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons, they're as dangerous as any team in the conference. Suffice to say, any adjustments from Dan Quinn between matchups will have to be made quickly. One of them already looks obvious."
"Austin Ekeler started the game, but Croskey-Merritt recorded more carries (10) than any other backfield threat. That should speak volumes about what the Commanders intend to do at the position moving forward. Ekeler had a few impressive moments himself en route to racking up 57 total yards on six carries and three receptions. But at this stage of his career, he is not an every-down back."
The Washington Commanders opened the season with a win over the New York Giants and will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, a tougher test given Green Bay's strong start and the addition of All-Pro Micah Parsons. Seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt impressed in camp and preseason, prompting Washington to trade Brian Robinson Jr. and activate Croskey-Merritt over Chris Rodriguez Jr. in Week 1. Croskey-Merritt finished with 82 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Austin Ekeler contributed 57 yards but did not handle every-down duties. Washington is likely to increase Croskey-Merritt's role while managing his workload.
