Deatrich Wise Jr. suffered a season-ending left quad injury during Week 2 Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. He attempted to block an extra-point in the second quarter when multiple opposing players rolled up on his leg, causing immediate, severe pain and leaving him inconsolable as trainers attended. Teammates surrounded him before he was carted off the field. Surgery will be required, ending his 2025 season. Wise later posted on Instagram expressing gratitude for support and faith. Wise, 31, is a nine-year NFL veteran, drafted by New England in 2017 and signed a one-year, $3.25 million deal with Washington in March.
