The Cleveland Browns Are Hiring Todd Monken as Their Next Head Coach
"The team announced Wednesday that it has hired Todd Monken, bringing one of the league's most accomplished offensive minds back to Cleveland to lead a franchise searching for stability - and answers - on that side of the ball. Monken spent the last three seasons as the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator, overseeing one of the most productive stretches in franchise history."
"Todd is highly intelligent, and his experienced, innovative offensive mindset has been at the forefront of constructing productive and successful offenses at the NFL and collegiate level over the last 20 years, He is an outstanding leader and has a clear vision to lead our team as a strong communicator who values trust with his players, but also accountability and preparation."
"After firing Kevin Stefanski on January 5, Cleveland conducted nine interviews during the initial phase of its search before narrowing the field to five candidates for in-person interviews: Monken, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski, Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, and Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn."
Todd Monken has been hired as the Cleveland Browns head coach, returning to the organization after serving as the Browns' offensive coordinator in 2019. Monken spent the last three seasons as the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator, overseeing one of the most productive stretches in franchise history; in 2024 Baltimore led the NFL in total yards and yards per play. Owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam praised his intelligence, innovative offensive mindset, leadership, communication, and emphasis on trust, accountability and preparation. The Browns fired Kevin Stefanski on January 5 and narrowed their coaching search to five finalists including Monken.
