The Patriots won't have to look far for extra motivation this year

A Week 1 rematch against Seattle is expected to test whether New England can avoid repeating the same problems. National predictions for 2026 do not project a playoff run, citing doubts about whether the team has improved enough. The offensive line is identified as the main weakness, with 47 regular-season sacks allowed and 21 more in the playoffs. Several starters return, including Jared Wilson moving from left guard to center and Alijah Vera-Tucker taking left guard.

Neither thinks the Patriots will make the playoffs."
