Daniels Locmelis joined the Providence Bruins after his sophomore season at UMass and recorded 3-9-12 in six regular-season games. Coach Ryan Mougenel praised his energy, offensive flair, hockey sense and overall responsibility, projecting Locmelis as a player likely to push for roster consideration. Locmelis will compete in the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo before many prospects report to Boston's main training camp on September 17. Locmelis says he aims to make the NHL roster and will compete for contested openings. Listed at 6-0 and 177 pounds, he added muscle during his Amherst tenure and continues to develop physically.
