""Even when he chirps you, he's trying to get under your skin," Connor McMichael said, "but at the end of the day, it's too funny.""
""They don't always make sense," Pierre-Luc Dubois said, "but they're just always funny.""
""I just get it the whole year from Dewey," Wilson said. "I don't even go after him at all, but it just keeps coming back.""
Monumental Sports Network social media collected player responses during Capitals Media Day at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. Teammates identified Brandon Duhaime as the top chirper, with Duhaime receiving seven of 13 votes. John Carlson received five votes and Tom Wilson received four votes as notable challengers. Players described Duhaime's taunts as often funny, sometimes nonsensical, and aimed to get under opponents' skin. Teammates said Carlson delivers sharp, cutting comments when someone errs or scores in practice. Duhaime initially hesitated to answer but ultimately responded with a light-hearted remark, and Duhaime was acquired in free agency during the 2024 offseason.
