Nathan Fielder expressed dissatisfaction with Paramount+ after the streaming service removed a significant episode of his show 'Nathan For You.' The episode featured Fielder's clothing brand, Summit Ice, aimed at promoting Holocaust awareness. Fielder revealed how he learned of the episode's removal while reflecting on its importance as his 'proudest achievement.' Paramount+ Germany initiated the removal due to sensitivities regarding antisemitism linked to recent global events. Fielder condemned this decision, suggesting it represents a troubling trend in how Jewish experiences are handled in media.
I remember wanting to convey how urgent this was for me, and yet my email was extremely cordial, using phrases like 'forever grateful' and 'happy holidays.'
A decision was made by Paramount+ Germany to remove the episode in their region after they became uncomfortable with what they called anything that touches on antisemitism in the aftermath of the Israel/Hamas attacks.
I feel that they are in a way erasing the Jewish people, and comparing them to how the Nazis erased Europe during the war.
Summit Ice is my proudest achievement, and to have this episode taken down feels like a step backward.
