Finland had to postpone the start of its games, as several of its players went into isolation to start the tournament. The Finns opened the games against the U.S. women on Feb. 7 and promptly lost 5-0, potentially feeling some of the after effects of the illness."

The women's Olympic hockey tournament has begun amid a norovirus outbreak in the Olympic village that forced Finland to postpone its opening and isolate several players. Finland lost 5-0 to the U.S. on Feb. 7 and may be feeling aftereffects of the illness. Switzerland also placed multiple players in isolation after a diagnosis. The U.S. opened with wins over Czechia (5-1) and Finland (5-0). Canada had a delayed start but beat Switzerland 4-0 and will meet the U.S. in preliminaries on Feb. 10. The men's tournament starts later as Team Canada arrivals, including Macklin Celebrini and Sidney Crosby, reach Milano Cortina.
