Tom Wilson tries to drag Braden Holtby to podium to do interview with reporters: 'Absolutely not'
""He wants the podium!" Wilson exclaimed per RMNB's Katie Adler."
""Absolutely not," Holtby said laughing."
""[W]e've got a good crew of guys like Steve Richmond, [Brooks Orpik], Olie [Kolzig], Jimmy Slater and now [Braden Holtby]," Fitzsimmons said."
""We have a good crew of guys that work hard at development and they're in Hershey all the time.""
Braden Holtby returned to Washington, D.C., and serves as a mentor to Capitals goalie prospects and young players while maintaining a private presence and declining media interaction. He attended Rookie Camp, Development Camp, and Training Camp, often skating alongside Olie Kolzig. Holtby works with the Capitals player development group that includes Kolzig, Brooks Orpik, and Jim Slater, though he is not an official staff member. Capitals director Jason Fitzsimmons cited Holtby as part of the development crew that frequently works in Hershey. Holtby backstopped Washington to the 2018 Stanley Cup, holds the franchise record with 301 wins, and won the 2016 Vezina Trophy.
