Patriots' dream trade target comes with steep price, but could be worth it
Briefly

Mike Vrabel has transformed the Patriots' roster during the 2025 offseason after a disappointing 4-13 record in 2024. He strengthened the defense by adding impactful players on every level, enhancing the team's competitiveness. Offensively, he upgraded the offensive line with key free agents and drafted multiple linemen that could start. Additionally, the team acquired two free agent receivers, signaling a commitment to improving the passing game, but there remains a pressing need for a top receiver, potentially achievable through a trade.
Vrabel bolstered both sides of the ball. On defense, he added playmakers to each level, transforming a lackluster 2024 group into an attacking menace.
On offense, Vrabel also made a lot of improvements. He upgraded the O-line with two likely starters in free agency and also drafted three O-linemen.
Stefon Diggs has been added in free agency to be the Patriots' No. 1 wide receiver, but his health status is still questionable.
Washington's Terry McLaurin has been touted as a possibility since he's in a contract spat with the Commanders. He'd be a great No. 1 receiver.
