
"A 70-year-old man has been arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in a Brooklyn crosswalk, cops said Sunday. Anselm Okeke is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident for the crash that killed 68-year-old Elvin Sanchez just before 1 a.m. Thursday. Sanchez was crossing Linden Blvd. in East New York when Okeke, who was headed east on Ashford St., allegedly struck him and kept going, police said."
"Sanchez was crossing against the pedestrian signal, according to police. Medics rushed him to Brookdale University Hospital but he couldn't be saved. He was less than a mile from home when he was struck, accoding to cops. Cops arrested Okeke, who also lives within a mile of the crash scene, later that day. Okeke was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday and released without bail until his next court appearance April 30."

Medics transported Sanchez to Brookdale University Hospital, where he died. He lived less than a mile from the crash. Police arrested Okeke later the same day; he was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court and released without bail pending an April 30 court appearance.
