
"More than 30 public libraries across the city's library systems - including four in Queens - will be open seven days a week as of Sunday, Sept. 7. More than 30 public library branches citywide will begin seven-day weekly service starting Sept. 7, including four branches in Queens. Eleven additional branches were added across Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Queens. The Rochdale Village, Hunters Point, Jackson Heights and Glen Oaks libraries are among the newly expanded Queens locations. The expansion is financed by a $2 million City Council investment in the FY2026 budget, plus a separate $15 million increase in operating support for the three library systems. City and library leaders announced the expansion at the Harlem Library on Sept. 5.
