A house explosion in Queens occurred during a police response to a domestic dispute involving a suspect armed with a knife. The explosion, fueled by gas, killed 50-year-old Anroop Parasram, believed to have intentionally set himself on fire. Seven police officers sustained minor injuries, including burns and a head laceration. Bodycam footage captured the explosion, which propelled officers into a fence. All residents of the building were accounted for, and the structure is set for demolition.
