Briefly

Affordable housing remains a critical issue for New Yorkers, and Mayor Eric Adams emphasizes its importance based on his personal experiences with housing insecurity. His administration has adopted a comprehensive approach, utilizing various governmental tools to address the city's housing crisis effectively. In Fiscal Year 2025, record numbers of affordable rental units were produced, particularly for formerly homeless individuals. Additionally, the administration revealed that over 426,000 homes have been created, preserved, or planned, marking a significant achievement in addressing housing needs.

We brought a whole new approach to housing, using every tool at every level of government to create new homes across the entire city.
Thanks to historic investments and a relentless focus across our entire city government, our administration has shattered affordable housing records year after year.
