The Hershey Bears will compete against the Bridgeport Islanders in the first round of the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs. A victory for Hershey would conclude the Islanders' AHL operations in Bridgeport, as the team is relocating to Hamilton, Ontario, for the 2026-27 season. This move, approved by the AHL Board of Governors, ends 25 years of AHL presence in Bridgeport. Hamilton's TD Coliseum, recently renovated, will host the Islanders' new affiliate, aiming to engage a new generation of hockey fans.
