Williams, Assemblymember Emily Gallagher, Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas, Assemblymember Robert C. Carroll, State Sen. Jabari Brisport and Council member Sandy Nurse."

Department of Homeland Security agents detained 70 New Yorkers outside 26 Federal Plaza and arrested 12 elected officials upstairs after those officials attempted to enter to assess the living conditions of immigrants held there. Some elected officials made it past the doors and were handcuffed moments later. Arrested officials included Comptroller Brad Lander, Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams, Assemblymembers Emily Gallagher, Jessica González-Rojas, Robert C. Carroll, State Sen. Jabari Brisport, and Council member Sandy Nurse. Comptroller Lander had been arrested in June while attempting to escort an immigrant from a court hearing. Doors to the courts were locked and manned with armed guards.
