Fan sprints across Citi Field outfield briefly delaying Mets-Blue Jays game
Briefly

During an April 5, 2025 Mets game against the Blue Jays, a fan ran onto the field, causing a brief delay. Wearing dark clothing, he ran from left field to right-center, energizing the crowd by pumping his arms before being tackled by security guards. Although he didn’t interfere with any players, his antics drew cheers from the audience. At that point in the game, the Mets trailed 1-0 with only three hits, struggling to capitalize on scoring opportunities, particularly involving Jesse Winker.
The fan, wearing a dark shirt, long pants and dark sneakers, started in left field and sprinted all the way across to the right-center area during the bottom of the fifth.
As a group of security guards approached, one tackled him to the ground as the rest surrounded the fan, and they escorted him off the field as fans cheered.
The Mets trailed the Blue Jays, 1-0, at the time of the disturbance, with their offense collecting just three hits and failing to convert multiple times with Jesse Winker in scoring position.
He stopped, pumped his arms into the air to fire up the crowd and then ran all the way back to left field before stopping.
