The Working Families Party endorsed community organizer Jibreel Jalloh in his June Democratic primary challenge to incumbent Assemblymember Jaime Williams. Jalloh campaigned on lowering costs, protecting healthcare, and delivering a new generation of leadership. WFP co-Chair Ana María Archila praised Jalloh’s leadership qualities and record and cited Williams’ opposition to a migrant shelter at Floyd Bennett Field as part of the rationale for backing a challenger. Williams emphasized continued representation of South Brooklyn and her reelection bid as the Democratic incumbent.
