"I will have many more words tomorrow but this afternoon, I have very few. This team looks like April rather than July. I'm as nervous as can be. This is slipping out of this team's hands extremely quickly."
"That was inarguably NOT the start anyone needed out of Bello. He has such a hard time settling into games and even seeing the top of the order a second time. If he doesn't get hit hard early, he can power through. He got knocked around for three runs in the top of the 1st inning. Not a recipe for success."
"Where is the life in this team? See more tomorrow, but this is just such lifeless baseball."
"It goes to Tolle, who'd did everything he could to keep this team in this game."
The team played lifeless baseball, looking like April rather than July and slipping out of contention quickly. Bello struggled to settle into the game, rarely seeing the top of the order a second time, and he surrendered three runs in the top of the first inning. When not hit early, Bello can sometimes power through, but the early damage undermined his outing and the team’s chances. The overall performance felt nervous and lacking energy. Tolle worked hard and did everything possible to keep the team competitive in the game.
